Proxy guide

Choose the right proxy in 30 seconds.

A practical guide to buying bandwidth, generating proxy lists and configuring sessions, subusers, auto top-up and referrals.

Most account-based bots: HTTP + Sticky

1. Start here

RECOMMENDED DEFAULT

For most bots

HTTP + Sticky is the safest starting point when the bot logs in or keeps a cart.

BUY FIRST

Buy bandwidth

Open Residential, choose the amount and complete checkout. Your balance is added after payment confirmation.

2. Session types and lifetime

Rotating

The route can change as requests continue. It does not keep one stable login session.

Best for: requests, scraping and tasks where every request can use a fresh route.

Sticky — 24 hours

A Sticky session is configured for 1,440 minutes = 24 hours. During that window, the same session route is kept when possible.

Best for: login, carts, checkout and bots that must stay inside one account.

Extra Long

Extra Long is intended for longer-running sessions than regular Sticky. The exact lifetime is controlled by the session service and is not shown as one fixed customer guarantee.

Best for: long account-based workflows where a route change could interrupt the job.

Important: If a bot logs in to Amazon or another shop, do not use Rotating just because it is faster. A route change can trigger a logout, extra verification or a broken cart.

3. Generate a proxy list

01

Buy bandwidth

Open Residential, click Buy bandwidth and complete checkout.

02

Choose the protocol

Use HTTP (Default). Select SOCKS5 only when the bot explicitly requires SOCKS5.

03

Choose session, country and amount

Select Rotating, Sticky or Extra Long, choose a country or EU Mix and enter the required amount.

04

Download and paste

The generated file contains one proxy per line. Paste the complete file into your bot and keep it private.

hostname:port:username:password

4. Subusers

Subusers create a separate balance for another person, team or workflow. They are useful when you want to lend proxy access or control how much a separate workflow can use.

  1. Open Settings → Subusers.
  2. Enable the feature and save it.
  3. Create at least one subuser. A new subuser starts with 0 GB.
  4. Move bandwidth between the main account and the subuser. Transfers use whole MB internally.
  5. After a subuser exists, choose the account in the generator. New purchases continue to go to the main account.
Important: The generator account selector stays hidden until Subusers are enabled and at least one subuser has been created.

5. Auto top-up

Auto top-up buys a selected bandwidth package automatically when your remaining balance reaches the threshold you choose.

  1. Open Settings → Auto top-up.
  2. Add a payment card through the secure payment form.
  3. Choose the trigger threshold, for example 0.10 GB.
  4. Choose the package to buy and optionally add a discount code.
  5. Enable the rule and save it.

Bandwidth is added only after payment confirmation. If the card is declined or additional authentication is required, auto top-up pauses until the payment method is fixed.

6. Reset the proxy password

Use this when your credentials may have been exposed or you want to invalidate old lists.

  1. Open Settings → Reset proxy password.
  2. Confirm the reset.
  3. Generate a new list after the reset.

This cannot be undone. Previously generated residential proxy lists stop working after the reset.

7. Billing and invoices

Open Billing in the left menu. Payments are listed under Invoices. Click the invoice link next to a payment to open or download the document.

8. Referrals

Create your referral link and share it with new customers. When someone joins through your link and buys bandwidth, you receive 5% of that purchase as extra GB in your referral balance.

  • Open Referral in the dashboard and copy your invite link.
  • Share the link with the people you invite.
  • The earned GB appears in the referral area after the qualifying purchase.

9. Daily usage limit

Set a maximum amount of Residential bandwidth that this account may use during one day.

  1. Open Settings → Daily usage limit, enter the maximum GB amount and enable the rule.
  2. When the limit is reached, the Residential password is automatically changed.
  3. Previously generated proxy lists stop working. Generate a new list and enable a new limit again if you want to continue with a daily cap.

There can be a short delay while usage is checked and the password is changed. If you need a separate balance and more immediate control, use a Subuser instead.

10. Quick troubleshooting

  • Login or checkout fails: use HTTP + Sticky, not Rotating.
  • The bot asks for SOCKS5: change only the protocol and keep the session type appropriate for the workflow.
  • The list stops working: generate a fresh list with the same settings.
  • Need a separate balance: enable Subusers, create one, then transfer the required amount.
